Tom Cruise as Ironman - Deepfake Theater

Video

Years after the release of Iron Man in 2008, rumours persisted that Tom Cruise had been set to play Tony Stark, the role immortalised by Robert Downey Jr., in the 2008 blockbuster directed by Jon Favreau. In August 2019, Deepfake Theater couldn’t resist the urge to ‘magic up’ an alternate version of Iron Man’s trajectory through the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a video that employed deepfake technology to superimpose Cruise over scenes shot with Robert Downey Jr. across the gamut of Marvel Studios’ back catalogue.
