Edweard Muybridge Horse in Motion

Image

In reducing shutter speeds down to a fraction of a second, Eadweard Muybridge broke down movement into increments of time. With multiple cameras, Muybridge was able to take sequential photographs – then with the help of a zoetrope and later his zoopraxiscope he effectively created the world’s first moving photographs laying the foundation for creation of the moving image.
