This film presents several speeches on the relationship of violence to social reform. The speakers who took part in a Congress on the Dialectics of Liberation, held in London and sponsored by the Institute of Phenomenological Studies, include: Allen Ginsberg (poet), Paul Goodman (editor of “Liberation” magazine), Herbert Marcuse (Professor of Philosophy, University of California) and Stokely Carmichael (former Chairman Student Non-violent Co-ordinating Committee). and others. Following the speeches two social scientists evaluated the conference.
