Answers the questions of potential apprentices and their parents about how the apprenticeship scheme works in Australian industry by concentrating on Robert, an apprentice fitter and turner with an automotive firm. Robert, his father and his supervisor give their views on the training involved, which is intended to develop a boy’s character as well as to produce a good craftsman.
