The story of a bear hunt. Photographed in northern Lapland by Arne Sucksdorff, the film follows Anund the Hunter and his dog on the trail of a bear through forests, over valleys and streams and into the high mountains. When the bear injures the dog, Anund retreats in panic, leaving the bear in possession of the battlefield.
