This film reviews the extent and nature of beech forests in New Zealand and describes schemes undertaken for improvement. Draws attention to the work of the New Zealand Forest Service in carrying out aerial and ground surveys and compiling information, resulting in such schemes as the erection of deer-proof fences, selection of seed trees and the establishment of even age forests.
