Puppets of the Orient and the Occident are presented in this UNESCO contribution to understanding between East and West. Scenes of puppet plays in India, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Poland, Czechoslovakia and the United States today. The presentations illustrate the great variety of the traditions which have survived for thousands of years. Also includes archival footage of Jim Henson and “the muppets” including a very early Kermit.
