A survey of the historical and economic factors on which the Commonwealth was built; the trading companies, the missionary movement, empire builders, the freeing of colonial governments, provide a background for an understanding of the Commonwealth. Analyses the political, social and economic interests and ties which have held the nations together and its importance on world history.
