Outlines the work of the British National Health Service through the eyes of Dr Stone, a London doctor practising in a traditional two-doctor family practice, Dr Gibson, one-time Chairman of the British Medical Association, now senior partner at Friarsgate Medical Centre and Mr Laing, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, who heads an ultra-modern hospital and research unit caring for burned patients.
