This film aims to stimulate interest in reading and to increase the vocabulary of primary pupils by using over prints and repetition in the narration. While reading and looking at storybooks, a group of children learn about the habits of polar bears and American black bears. Shows Alaskan brown bears swimming in a stream, catching and eating salmon, fighting over fish and teaching cubs how to swim.
