The art of jade carving is a specialised and revered art in China. The film shows a skilled carver fashioning a rabbit out of jade. The five fundamental steps of jade carving as well as the tools used are demonstrated and described. The artistic and aesthetic values of jade are discussed and various properties of the material explained.
