The Sports College in Cologne was founded in 1947. Its aim is to train sports teachers for schools and coaches for sports clubs. The Sports College in Cologne founded in 1947 gives instruction in all branches of sport, theory and practice, to teachers from primary and secondary schools, future physical education industries, youth leaders, local and overseas students. The college has a well-equipped research laboratory to study respiration and circulation during physical exertion and research into muscular fatigue. Coaches include ex-Olympic championing instructing students in athletic, weight training, swimming, gymnastics, javelin throwing.
