Excerpts from Charles Dickens’ “David Copperfield”. David’s courtship of Dora is marked by great tenderness, amusing misunderstandings and treachery by Miss murdstone, who has re-appeared as Dora’s maid. Due to his aunt’s financial distress, it looks as though David will never marry Dora. But fate intervenes, and when Dora’s father dies leaving her penniless, David and Dora are free to marry.
