Tells how David and Dora’s idyllic existence begins to wane after their marriage because of Dora’s childlike inexperienced management of the household. Records the disastrous dinner for the uncomplaining Traddles, and the couple’s first quarrel. Shows how David’s acceptance of Dora’s ineptness affords them some final months of happiness before her death.
