Traces the step-by-step procedure of screening clinical data in order to establish the diagnosis of childhood schizophrenia: a process involving a review of the pertinent historical material, psychological test findings, clinical observations, and the noting of the absence of significant medical, neurological, and laboratory test results, followed by a differential diagnosis to rule out clinical syndromes with which childhood schizophrenia is commonly confused.
