Episode of Series “Australia today”.
The work of a District Commissioner in the Papua New Guinea highlands. Follows Tom Ellis on patrol: establishing medical posts, providing agricultural advice and equipment, taking a populaiton census and later establishing a patrol post. Shows the importance of air-dropped supplies, until airstrips and roads are laid, and the value of roads to primitive people.
