Episode number 11 of Series “War in the Air”.
This series of films, telling of the story of air power and its impact on the world was specially compiled by the BBC in 1954-55, 90% from actual combat material. The remainder consists of extracts from war documentary films and sequences constructed and specially shot by the BBC Production Unit with the co-operation and advice of the services. This episode focuses on air operations in Western Europe summer and autumn 1944.
