The highlights of the 1955 Farnborough Air Show showing the latest developments in British civil and military aircraft. Aircraft appearing in the film include: the English Electric “P-1”, the first British aircraft to exceed the speed of sound in level flight; the Fairey “Delta II”, the Folland “Gnat I”, the new Hawker “Hunter F4”, the Fairey “Jet Gyrodyne” helicopter; and the de Havilland Gyron, claimed to be the most powerful type-tested engine yet announced.
