An impression of the enormous musical and technical resources which went into the recording of “Gotterdammerung”, the latest chapter in an ambitious project to record Wagner’s entire Ring Cycle. With actual takes of the Immolation scene, Siegfried’s Funeral March and the ‘Vengeance’ trio which ends Act II, and behind the scenes film of rehearsals, playbacks, recordings, and interviews with some of the principal artists. Singers include Birgit Nilsson, Wolfgang Windgasson, Gottlob Frick, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Clare Watson. Conductor - Georg Solti.
