Presents the life story and musical works of George Frideric Handel. Explores the social and political conditions of the period. Explains the musical forms used and developed by Handel - the oratorio, masque opera, suite and baroque. Excerpts from the following are included in the film: Julius Caesar; Water Music; Concerto Grosso No. 6; Italian Cantata No. 17; Messiah - “I know that my redeemer liveth” and ” Hallelujah chorus”.
