The major causes of heart disease weaken the heart to make a person vulnerable. Steps can be taken by the individual and society to decrease or eliminate these causes. Smoking, overweight and a lack of physical fitness are highlighted as prime causes of heart disease. Tension and stress and methods of overcoming their effect on the heart re dealt with.
