The building of Britain’s first international port for hovercraft at Pegwell Bay near Ramsgate, on reclaimed land at the water’s edge. Shows the stages of reclamation and construction through adverse conditions in winter, and finally the hovercraft taking off for a brisk 70 mph run across the English channel to Calais.
