Following the life of a farmer in the upper Ganges Valley, we see the problems which beset India’s food production. the use of primitive methods of farming, the growing rural population and the resulting migration of farmers to the cities, all contribute to low crop yields. Under government auspices, the Community Development Program is trying to improve farming methods and enrich village life.
