Using lithographs, engravings and water-colours, this film tells the story of the settlement of Australia, beginning with the arrival of Captain Phillip, and continuing with the toils and hardships of the early explorers and settlers on the alien, hostile continent. Winner of an Australian Film Award, gold award, for “its use of contemporary material in interpreting history”. Narrated by Nigel Lovell.
