It shows the Australian railway system as an important means of transport for primary products, mail and people; traces the history of rail transport from the time of the Industrial Revolution; the effect of introducing railway transport in Australia; the break of gauge problems; the development of powerful locomotives in various states to cope with modern heavy haulages; the future of railways in Australia.
