Shows life in the productive areas of the Nile Valley which are called the Nile Oasis. Explores the desert wasteland and the Sahara. Typical camel caravan illustrates the hardships of transportation. Date palm trees, mud brick houses, and small schools are shown. Last section shows development if sterile land into a new oasis, and the problems faced by the inhabitants of an arid area where irrigation is difficult.
