A view of life in the cities, on the farms and in the nomad caravans of the Sahara Desert. How trains, trucks, cars and aeroplanes carry supplies to the cities and camel caravans transport food and supplies to remote tribes. Emphasises the importance of water to the desert inhabitants and shows a diver risking his life to keep an artesian well free from clogging sand.
