Today there are more than 50 schools for the blind in India where children as well as adults receive education and training. The Central Braille Printing Press at Dehra Dun is dedicated to serving the sightless. The training centre for the adult blind, also located at Dehra Dun, is one of the most important centres of its kind in the country. Weaving is among the principal technical trades taught.
