The work of animal care and protection in Scotland which, under the guidance of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and with the support of enlightened legislastion, enforces specific standards of animal welfare, and ensures that they are housed and fed according to their special needs and properly cared for in the course of training, working and when in transit.
