The life of Franz Liszt, as musical composer, performer and teacher presented against a background of the European capitals where he composed and performed. Includes excerpts from the following works: Concerto No. 1 in E Flat Mojor; Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2; Sonata in B Minor and Les Preludes. Particular attention is given to the latter piece as an example of the symphonic poem.
