Examines recent developments in the preservation and rehabilitation of inner-city areas of Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne raising the issue of low-income workers being forced out of these areas by “trendies” and high class shops. Highlights the need to strengthen working relationships between inner-city communities and government emphasising the importance of deeper official understanding of residents’ social and environmental needs. Narrated by Leonard Teale.
