Explains the history of the use of coffee, how it spread throughout the world and the story of its social impact, especially in London in the 17th century, when coffee-houses were the meeting places of artists, scientists and politicians. Information on the coffee bean from plantation to cup is given, and how packing is important to preserve flavour and aroma.
