Measuring instruments are introduced: the engineer’s rule, micrometers, vernier gauge, outside and inside callipers and odd legs. The marking-off table, the scriber, scribing black, V blocks, finding the centre of a round bar, drawing lines parallel to the edge of the table, the dial test indicator, the surface plate, testing the flatness of a surface by means of a coloured marking agent, spring dividers, and the fitter’s square are also demonstrated.
