Tells the story of natural rubber - the rubber industry of Malaya, showing research and improvement of productivity. Shows how the rubber tree is cultivated and how the latex is collected and made into rubber on Malaysian plantations and small holdings. Also shows some of the numerous applications, from elastic yarn for swimsuits to springs for cars and how research has helped to produce many types of natural rubber compounds for different purposes.
