For 160 years Sweden has had Ombudsmen to whom the public can appeal directly in breaches of civil liberties, abuse of authority or any other apparent injustice. Explains the function of the Ombudsmen, through the reconstruction of typical cases where their independent investigations have resulted in the correction of injustices.
