The problem of the mentally handicapped. Shows how parents and institutions cope with retarded children and adults, showing a wide range of situations in England and Canada. Special schools and adult training centres are shown, and it is emphasised that less severe cases are able to learn enough to support themselves and are better living in normal society than institutionalised.
