Episode of Series “March of Time”.
A general picture of the Republic of Portugal. Presents Portugal as an example of Catholic social and economic policy. Shows the corporate organization of its society, under dictator Salazar. Gives glimpses of Portugal’s chief exports (Port wine, cork) and its fishing and farming - the greater part of the economy. Shows the education system, which is geared to social stability and respect for the past.
