A study of the cast cope of duties which Probation Officers are called upon to perform; the case of a young girl is presented. Because she is unhappy at home, she seeks satisfaction elsewhere, gets into bad company and is convicted of stealing. Through the understanding and help of the Probation Officer, he girl’s home life is improved, and the girl is put on probation instead of being sent to gaol. The purpose of the film is to encourage recruitment of suitable people to the probation service; their training is shown , and the necessary educational requirements indicated.
