Looks at the cotton industry in Lancashire which, in the middle of this century, supplied most of the world with cotton goods. Features cranes on the docks in Manchester unloading cotton from all over the world to supply the looms of Lancashire. Includes a fashion shows highlighting cotton fabrics used by well-known British designers. Photographed by Jimmy Rogers, music by William Alwyn and editing by C. Beaumont.
