An account of an annual 1000km voyage by a family of four on a balsa raft down the Parnaiba River in Brazil. Their destination is a small town in Teresina, where their pottery, livestock and the raft will be sold. After the slow month long journey, the family is faced with the problem of the return trip. Suitable for upper primary and lower secondary levels.
