A survey of Victoria’s second largest industry - the production of wheat. Stresses the need for increased production to meet the requirement of local and overseas buyers. Shows the work being done by the State Research Farm, the Victorian Department of Agriculture and the agricultural colleges in this direction; the checking of flour for quality; the breeding, growing and harvesting of wheat varieties; the development of improved wheat strains; bread manufacture; the bulk handling of wheat at rail heads and storage depots.
