Royal tour of Sierra Leone by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, in 1961; State Drive to Freetown; a military parade and inspection, a Royal Durbar, a State Banquet and the Garden Party given for Her Majesty by Prime Minister, Sir Milton Margai. Visits to outstanding industrial projects and educational institutions and a wealth of colourful pageants and displays are other features of the tour.
