A survey of the industry and commerce of Burma, Indo-China, Thailand and Malaya where ancient methods and modes of life contrast sharply with new machinery, schools, highways, modern factories and scientific farming methods. Explains that rice is the basic food crop of the area, and it is also exported in quantities to other countries. Other products include tin, oil, crude rubber and teak.
