Discusses the theory and practice of levelling, with particular regard to the steps necessary to check and to maintain instruments in a proper state of adjustment. The latter section of the film illustrates the use of the Geodetic Level and finally how this level was used by the Geodetic Survey of Canada to run out a hundred miles of control levels along the Red River.
