The Canadian prairies, seen through the eyes of a ten-year-old boy. Ti-Jean reaches the Golden West and hires out as a harvest hand. he learns to handle the equipment; he learns about the life of prairie farmers and, when a storm threatens, he works with the strength of ten to save a farmer’s crop.
