On his 11th birthday a boy graduates from being a cub to being a boy scout. The various activities of his first year of scouting are shown. These include his first camp, a trip to the Grampians and finally a bicycling camp in Tasmania. The training that scouts receive in disclipine, handicraft and nature study is brought out in the film.
