The long struggle to create a unified Italy from the invasion by Napoleon in 1805 to the plebiscite of Rome in 1870. The important events are re-enacted against historic locales in Italy, showing the roles played by Mazzini, King Victor Emmanuel, Count Cavour and Garibaldi.
