Uses the words of Walt Whitman, taken from his prose writings, diaries, note books and marginal manuscript notes, in presenting events in his life and in describing the influences which compelled him to write “Leaves of Grass”, his sympathetic observations of nature on Long Island and the people with whom he identified. Includes images of Long Island and New York in the 1960’s. Voice of Walt Whitman by Marvin Miller.
