Combines art work, original drawings, and excerpts from classical European paintings in an animated film which recreates the blood contests between the French and Russians in the Napoleonic Wars, and which deplores the horror of war in all times and places. Set with music from Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
(Awards: Special Jury Prize, Cannes, 1973)
