William Dobell has been acclaimed the greatest portrait and character painter of the twentieth century. The film with some 85 examples, reviews and interprets the artist’s work and development from his early days of struggle in London to his success in later times. This review of the work of Dobell includes not only some of his great portraits but also some examples of his early paintings. Suitable for upper secondary level.
